About Me
- Jon Scieszka
- Jon Scieszka grew up in Flint, Michigan, and earned an MFA from Columbia University. After a stint as an elementary school teacher, he published his first book with illustrator Lane Smith, The True Story of the 3 Little Pigs!. Scieszka and Smith have collaborated on seven other books, including The Stinky Cheese Man and Other Fairly Stupid Tales, a Caldecott Honor Book, and their most recent title, Cowboy and Octopus. Jon is also the author of the Time Warp Trio series for middle grade readers. Additionally, Jon Scieszka is the founder of Guys Read, a nonprofit literacy organization dedicated to encouraging men and boys to read. In January 2008, Jon was appointed the inaugural National Ambassador for Young People's Literature by the Library of Congress. He currently lives in Brooklyn NY with his family.
